MUMBAI: Mamta Sharma, the ‘Munni Badnaam’ famed singer, feels that producers these days have become more receptive towards accepting new singers and composers. In her opinion, the fraternity has become open even to a lot of newcomers as producers are open to working outside their ‘camps’.
“Gone are the days when producers or directors wanted to work only with one singer or composer. The industry is more about promoting talent and thus I can say that there are no ‘camps’ in Bollywood. If you have a good voice or good music to put up, you can end up working with best people in the industry,” said Sharma. The songstress created ripples with her last track ‘Aata Majhe Satakle’ for the film ‘Singham Returns’. Now Sharma has crooned a number ‘Madamiya’ along with Mika Singh for the Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Teevar’. The music is composed by Sajid Wajid and the lyrics are penned by Kausar Muneer.
Talking about the song, she said, “Since the song required the flavour of Patna, I was asked to maintain that tone while singing. And Sajid Wajid are so cordial that you automatically start enjoying the song and they get you into that peppy mood wherein you fall in love with the brief given and bring out your talent.”

The song was recorded six months ago and Sharma is extremely happy with its video. “Look at the way Shruti Hasaan dances. She has nailed it. Arjun Kapoor is a rock and all of us have seen him, but Hasaan was always seen in a bubbly avatar. I am really happy with the way the song has turned out,” she said signing off.
