Sanam, previously known as SQS Project were first discovered through a talent hunt conducted by Times Music. The lead singer Sanam Puri has since with his band, been seen performing all around the place, including colleges. They post regular videos on YouTube doing covers and other original tracks. However, ‘Main Hoon’ for the Hindi Version of The Amazing Spiderman 2 is where I believe they have arrived. ‘Main Hoon’ has been released through Sony Music for the Sony Pictures release of the superhero film, and truthfully, the song could not have had a better platform to be launched on.
The melody is haunting with the perfect musical arrangement, including the drop and pick up in the bridge of the song. The lyrics are true to Spiderman’s character and demeanour and for a regular listener, easy to catch and learn. Sanam’s vocals and range are exemplary. I get a feeling that we have only seen the beginning with this band.
