Mumbai: Anti-piracy crusader M M Satish was awarded the Rashtriya Rajiv Gandhi Achievers Award for dedication to anti-piracy awareness and action on Wednesday in Mumbai.
The awards function was hosted by Chander Sharma,founder / president of the Rashtriya Rajiv Sena and Senorita Issac, National Secretary of the Bhartiya Cultural and Social Development Association.
Others who received awards were Hema Malini (Lifetime Achievement in the field of Entertainment), Actor-Director Arbaz Khan (debut producer for â€?Dabangg’), Gul Kriplani, Chairman-MD TTK Group of Companies (International Trade), Sunaina Roshan (Achiever Award for Fight Against Cancer) and comedian Johny Lever, among a host of other awardees.
On receiving the award, M M Satish said, It has not been easy. Today isn’t about me; it is more a universal appeal to join our fight against piracy. This unseen menace has to stop. Whether it is adulterated baby milk, music, film or mineral water or even fake branded wear or liquor for that matter, it deeply permeates all aspects of life. Satish has dedicated over 18 years to the fight against piracy. He has represented India globally on a US research exchange programme on anti-piracy Satish, founder of the Global IPR Foundation, is dedicated to anti-piracy has been a key figure in creating nationwide awareness in the areas of Copyright Law and anti-piracy raids and drills in to protect the public and industry interests.
