MUMBAI: The upcoming edition of Live from the Console will feature ‘Paul Simon Under African Skies’ documentary on 16 July at Mehboob Studio in Bandra.
The documentary will unveil insights of the legend by showcasing the journey of his Graceland album. The evening will also witness performances by singer / songwriter Pragnya Wakhlu, ambient electro act ‘Snowshoe’ and the experimental collaborators ‘ViceVersa’.
Pragnya Wakhlu songs are about inner reflection, thoughts, feelings and issues she feels strongly about. This year she got nominated for the ‘Bite my Music’ Global Music awards as the only Indian in the Best Female Vocalist Category. She bagged the third place at the ‘Indiego Music Awards (South East Asia 2011) for the Best Female Vocalist & is a two time nominee for ‘Best female Vocalist’ at the Jack Daniel’s Rock Awards(2010,2011).
SnowShoe is a studio project of Sky Rabbit’s lead guitarist, Rahul Nadkarni. The sixty minute set has moved to the stage with a mash up of samplers, loopers and live instruments. The two-piece live outfit also features fellow Sky Rabbit member, Harsh Karangale on drums.
ViceVersa is the project of Bangalore based music producer Manas Ullas and Mumbai based musician Rohit Pereira aka P-Man. Conceived as a live electronica outfit, the two draw influences from various genres including the likes of Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and Rock.
