MUMBAI: Music composer and singer Hridaynath Mangeshkar, also younger brother to legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, was bestowed with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recently.
The Sangeet Natak Akademi Award is the highest Indian recognition given to practising artistes. It is given to one practiscng in the field of music, dance, theatre, traditional arts and puppetry.
The veteran singer received it in the field of music. The news was shared by none other than Hridaynath’s elder sister Lata. The songstress announced the news on her twitter account.

The Mangeshkars had held the Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards on 23 and 24 April 2016. The awards felicitated legendary musicians, dramatists, artistes and social workers by presenting them with the Deenanath Award, a memento and cash prize of 1.01,001 rupees.
