MUMBAI: Riding high on the release of his first solo film music directorial venture â€?Jai Veeru’, Bappa Lahiri believes that his hard work and passion is sure to pay off.
Speaking on his experience of working solo, Bappa, who is veteran composer Bappi Lahiri’s son, says that it was an enriching and exciting journey as it gave him a chance to experiment and produce good music. He feels that working on â€?Jai Veeru’ will be something that will remain close to his heart referring to the friendship he shares with the producers of the movie, Narendra Bajaj and Shyam Bajaj.
Bappa Lahiri’s rendezvous with music began at the tender age of three. Having assisted his father ever since he was 12 years old, Bappa’s interest in music led him to the UK where he pursued further studies in music. A skilled tabla player, he believes that his journey so far has been a great one and his inclination for music was only natural as his father and grandparents hailed from the music industry.
Speaking of the album, Bappa Lahiri says that the songs in the album cater to all kinds of music tastes ranging across the genres of rock and hip hop and even includes a few masala and romantic numbers. He believes that the album, to be released by T-Series, exudes a lot of energy with a host of young and fresh talent lending their vocals to it.
Saim makes an impression in his debut song ‘Sufi’ along with Tulsi Kumar.
Tennu Le is a hip hop track sung by Omer Inayat followed by Dhun Lagi by Mika Singh and Raja Hasan, a full on entertainer that also has a remix version and â€?electro mix version’ included in the album. The next track, Aisa Lashkara, a foot tapping number brings together the vocals of Bappa Lahiri’s sister Reema Lahiri and Hard Kaur and finally Mouli Deve and Raja Hassan of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame have come together with Javed Ali for â€?Agre Ka Ghagra’.
Bappa does not believe that his success in the music industry can be solely credited to being the son of Bappi Lahiri.
I believe that the kids of the industry veterans face many challenges as the comparisons made are great,… says Bappa. He feels that nowadays people appreciate good music irrespective of who has composed it and will continue to commit to his projects with hard work, passion and dedication.
Bappa’s upcoming projects include Slat produced by Anjum Rizvi, Alibaug and Acid Factory by Sanjay Gupta and Shaadi Online.
