MUMBAI: Controversy’s child, pop star Lady Gaga, has finally released the video of her new single ‘Applause’ from her upcoming album, Artpop, which is scheduled to release on November 11 this year. According to reports, the track has sold 225,000 digital copies since its release last week on August 13.
Gaga released her video with an appearance on “Good Morning America” (GMA) Monday 19 August. The GMA visit was meant to be the official launch of both the song and video, but leaks forced Gaga to release the single a week early, report said.
The highly stylized video has Gaga in her usual dramatic avatar, complete with art poses, in a birdcage and wearing a range of iconic bras.
The singer will also perform her song at MTV’s Video Music Awards on 25 August at New York.
“I’m happy it’s in the world,” the singer said at the release.
