MUMBAI: Kobalt Music Group has inked a long-term administrative deal with Paul McCartney and his company MPL Communications to manage its catalogue outside North America, Britain and Ireland.
As per the association, Kobalt has acquired the copyrights of McCartney’s post-Beatles songs including ‘Ebony and Ivory’, ‘Band on the Run’, ‘My Love’, ‘Silly Love Songs’, ‘Unchained Melody’, ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘Till There Was You’, ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’, ‘Luck Be A Lady’ and ‘Sentimental Journey’ amongst others. It will also provide synchronization licensing for the songs of three MPL catalogues, MPL Communications, MPL Music Publishing and Cherio Corp.

In addition to Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles solo works and Paul McCartney & Wings, the catalogue also includes songs from over 1,200 songwriters including Frank Loesser, Carl Perkins, Joey Young, Harry Warren, Big Joe Turner, Jelly Roll Morton, Maurice Williams, Bessie Smith, Hugh Masekela, Roy Orbinson and Hoagy Carmichael.
