MUMBAI: Katy Perry and Adele were the big winners at the 28th MTV Video Music 2011, which was held in Los Angeles on Sunday August 28 2011.

VMA witnessed performances by Lady Gaga, Joe Calderone, Beyonce, Adele, Bruno Mars, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Jay-Z and Kanye West. A troupe of dancers performed on Britney’s biggest hits, including â€?Baby One More Time’, â€?Oops I Did It Again’, â€?Toxic’, â€?Slave For You’ and newer hits â€?Hold It Against Me’ and â€?Till the World Ends’.
Russell Brand paid tribute to his mate Amy Winehouse, who died earlier this year. Both Tony Bennett and Bruno Mars performed songs in Winehouse’s honor.
In keeping with MTV’s tradition of premiering clips from the hottest upcoming movies — first â€?Twilight’ now â€?The Hunger Games’ — Jennifer Lawrence unveiled the first look at the film based on the wildly popular young adult novels by Suzanne Collins.
