MUMBAI: Justin Bieber, One Direction, Selena Gomez and Ellen DeGeneres were winners of the first-ever Social Star Awards.
The awards celebrated the best in social media based on the data collected from Starcount.
Gomez was named popular actor, One Direction won in the category of popular music group and Bieber was titled as the best solo artist.

Bieber said, “Thank you to all my fans that helped me win best solo artist. You guys are awesome.”
Other winners included Ellen DeGeneres (Most Popular TV Show), Cristiano Ronaldo (Most Popular Sports Star) and Twilight Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (Most Popular Film).
The awards witnessed many huge performances- Aerosmith kicked started by playing classic hits, followed by Carly Rae Jepsen and finally, Psy closed the show with his mega hit ‘Gangnam Style’
The ceremony was held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands on 23 May.
