MUMBAI: Jubin Nautiyal, who has crooned popular songs like Humnava Mere, Tum Se and Ankh Lad Jaave etc., is back with another soulful number in the form of Phir Mulaqat, for the upcoming Emraan Hashmi starrer, Cheat India.
Composed by Kunaal and Rangon, the song features Emraan Hashmi playing a harmonium as he croons for the Mehfil, a romantic ghazal. As he reminisces his lover, we see Emraan and Shreya D’s romantic visuals pop in the romantic ghazal that will take you on a romantic nostalgia.
Speaking about his latest song, Jubin said, “I have sung a very different song for Cheat India. It’s a Ghazal and will definitely remind my audience of a whole time of music that is forgotten.”

“It’s a heart-warming song composed by the music composer duo Kunaal and Rangon, while music is produced by Aditya Dev. Kunal – Rangon wanted to hear the semi-classical side of my voice and so they played me this song. I loved it and here we are,” he added.
Elaborating his statement, Jubin shared, “The song was recorded a few months back and has a lot of soul and feel to it. I have dubbed this song a few times due to lyrics and expression changes. When working with musicians who are like minded and strive for perfection, we always get great content out. I am sure people will really enjoy the writing and the composition.”
On his rehearsals for the song, Nautiyal revealed, “To dub this song I had to start listening to the entire classic by Gulam Ali Saab, and Mehendi Hassan Saab to Jagjit Singh to get back in touch with the feel of Ghazal and that’s when I did I realize how much I missed listening to them.”
Further revealing his musical ways, Jubin told, “I’m trying to build and strengthen by artistic calling. The moment I play something interesting and challenging, any musical idea matches my ideology.”
“Emraan will be featuring in the song, I am excited to see him lip-sync, as he is one of the best lip-sync of our time. I don’t know exactly where it is shot but I love the director of the film. I am sure he is done a mind blowing job,” he said.
Further adding, the Humma singer said, “It is always fun to work with committed artists, I have worked with Emraan before and when you sing for him you always feel a special kind of love from the fans and the music world, that’s his charm, people love to hear music while he is on screen.”
Released under T-Series music label, Phir Mulaqat has garnered over two lakh fifty four thousand views on YouTube.
