MUMBAI: After enthralling audiences’ with their four-city tour in India, renowned guitarist John McLaughlin and tabla maestro Zakir Hussain are all set to perform at a one-off concert with their band â€?Remember Shakti’ in Palestine tomorrow.
The event will bring together members U Srinivas (mandolin), V Selvaganesh (kanjira) and singer Shankar Mahadevan on the band’s 35th anniversary.

Organised by Al Mada Association and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, the concert is a solidarity event for Palestine to raise awareness and to promote Al Mada’s music therapy programs which provide much needed help to traumatized children, youth at risk, violated women and others in need.
The concert is McLaughlin’s second gift to Al Mada. Earlier in 2010 the guitarist had donated the cash prize which he had won at the prestigious Jazzahead festival.
