MUMBAI: Jennifer Lopez had been rescued from the sets of her new music video after gunshots were heard at the Fort Lauderdale Beach in Florida.
The ‘On the Floor’ singer was shooting the music video for ‘Live It Up’, her upcoming collaboration with Pitbull. She was recording an interview for Entertainment Tonight, when the shots were fired. Lopez and her crew were filming in the southernmost end of this park and on hearing the shots her team rushed her into near-by parked car.
TV host Rob Marciano tweets “Gunshots fired on Fort Lauderdale Beach during my JLo interview. No kidding. Security scrambled her away.”
“Can hear & see ambulances converging ~400 yards down the street. Police confirming shots fired. No-one hit. Whew, he further tweets.
Fort Lauderdale Police spokeswoman Detective DeAnna Greenlaw told the Daily News that authorities investigated the incident. Officers responded to investigate, but said the individuals involved in the shooting ‘fled prior to their arrival’. According to reports, Lopez’s publicist later confirmed that the singer is fine. Police detained several people while responding to a call about shots fired. At this time, there are no known witnesses, no reported injuries and no further information.
Rapper Pitbull and Lopez’s boyfriend Casper Smart were also on hand for the music video shoot, though it is unclear if they were with Lopez during her interview. The pop star hasn’t yet commented on the disturbing incident.
