MUMBAI: Singer Jay-Z will join British rock band Coldplay at the closing ceremony of the London Paralympics Games 2012.
Jay-Z, 42, is expected to put up a duet with Coldplay in the grand event. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is a good friend of Jay-Z and they are scheduled to sing a duet. “Jay Z and Chris Martin are close friends, so he helped to get the rapper on board. They are putting together a spectacular set list – one likely to include a duet,” reports said.
The Paralympics are organised for sportsmen who are physically and intellectually challenged and are hosted after the Olympics.
Jay-Z, who headlined Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend earlier this summer, is the latest big name to join the show, after last week pop star Rihanna was learnt to be performing in the closing ceremony.
Rihanna is expected to perform the collaboration track ‘Princess of China’ with Coldplay as part of the gig based on a theme of earth, wind, water, fire and ice along with her hit track ‘Umbrella’.
