MUMBAI: 94.3 Radio One hosted its first concert under the initiative â€?One Mumbai, One Music’, with Ghazal maestro and Guru, Jagjit Singh, on tuesday,10th May at Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Mumbai.
Budding singer Shriram Iyer of the film Shor in the City opened the concert by singing three songs from his upcoming album, which were laced with soulful lyrics and composition. When Jagjit Singh took the stage, there was uproar to welcome the gazal maestro with some of his compositions that graced the evening including Hoshwalon Ko Khabar Kya…, Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar…, Tumko Dekha Toh Yeh Khayal Aaya… and many more.
94.3 Radio One managing director Vineet Singh Hukmani, said, Our concept of â€?One Mumbai One Music’ is true to all genres of music in India. We started with an on air approach to bring the richness of music genres to our audiences which goes beyond bollywood and now we are ensuring that the artist connects with the listener in a Live environment….

On this association Jagjit Singh said, It is a very good effort by Radio One to promote new talent and give them a platform and an audience to perform but it also depends on the artist to make the right use of it….
Expressing his delight Shriram Iyer said, It is an extreme pleasure to open an act for the legend whom I have always heard on CDs and Cassettes, the first thought that came in my mind when I saw him was Tumko Dekha Toh Yeh Khayal Aaya. I also confess that it is only because of Music Jockey Mihir that I am on this show, as he beautifully promotes non-bollywood music and independent budding artist like us on-air….
Music Jockey Mihir said, I am very happy that the concert has happened and the show â€?One Mumbai One Music’ is on-air for the last eight months where I have interviewed over 60 artists and this is a natural progression where Radio One is taking the show from Radio to ground level. It is phenomenal to start with the legend Guru Jagjit Singh as the first artist on the concert, and it is good to see Shriram getting an opportunity to perform….
