MUMBAI: Any elimination from Colors Infinity’s ‘The Stage 2’ will now be painful, for both the judges and the audience. The show has reached its final phase making it tougher for the judges to decide on whom to let go, but such are the rules of the show.
The latest contestant to be eliminated from ‘The Stage’ is Zarah Ross. The 20-year-old made it to the Top 10 of the show minus any formal training in music. But, this Saturday, 12 November 2016 marked her exit from the show.
It was the Freddie Mercury song that went wrong for ‘The Stage’ contestant. “I had to learn the song from scratch as I wasn’t familiar with it. So I focused more on the lyrics and that affected my performance,” confessed Zarah who did not expect to reach this far in the competition.

She added, “To be very honest making it to Top 10 was a big challenge for me. But then I hoped to reach the semi-finals and the finals.”
The singer wishes that she was trained musically to reach the finale. “I regretted not being trained in every way. Everyone says that I have age to my advantage and I plan to use it to learn music. I am aiming at getting a music degree from Royal Academy, London,” stated the singer.
Zarah who is completely interested in the English music scene wants it to grow in India. In fact, she wants to see more of it on Indian television and radio. “For me it will be a real big deal to hear Monica Dogra on Indian radio. A lot of people listen to radio and our artiste should have access to them. English music is also taking over slowly. We have some amazing bands; people will be interested in listening to them.”
Lastly, a more confident Zarah is planning to produce an EP and sing a few covers. “Being a part of ‘The Stage’ has given me more confidence. Everyone knows about me being confident in body and now I have it in my voice. My goal is to create an EP, but I won’t bring them out till the songs are perfect.”
