Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris to launch solo album ‘British Lion’

MUMBAI: After his successful musical journey with heavy metal band Iron Maiden, frontman Steve Harris is all set to release his solo album ‘British Lion’ on 24 September.

The album to be released on EMI Music comprises of 10 songs featuring the heavy-rock singer’s collaborative work composed over the past few years during Iron Maiden tours and releases. The album enlists tracks like ‘This Is My God’, ‘Lost Worlds’, ‘Karma Killer’, ‘Us against the World’, ‘The Chosen Ones’, ‘A World Without Heaven’, ‘Judas’, ‘Eyes Of The Young’, ‘These Are The Hands’ and ‘The Lesson’.

Speaking about the album Harris said, “As far as the name ‘British Lion’ is concerned I’ve always been proud to be British and I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t be. It’s not like I’m flag-waving or trying to preach, this is not a political statement at all. It’s like supporting your football team, where you come from. I just think it lends itself to some really strong imagery too, and to me it fits in with the sound.”

With Iron Maiden, Harris has become one of the most recognized and successful ambassadors of British music on the world stage. In the band’s 35 year career, the singer along with band has released 15 studio albums, sold over 85 million records worldwide and played more than two thousand gigs in 58 countries.
