MUMBAI: Info Edge India Limited Co-founder and CEO Hitesh Oberoi is the new chairman of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI). Oberoi would be taking over from of Google India managing director Shailesh Rao.
Speaking about his new role Hitesh Oberoi said, The digital industry is at an inflection point and is growing steadily. IAMAI, which has been working persistently towards the growth of the medium, is also growing. We plan to engage more closely with the government to ensure that the online industry registers a balance growth in the years to come and the internet user base widens….
IAMAI has also announced major changes in its senior team with Microsoft Corporation joint managing director Hemant Sachdev as new vice-chairman, who takes over from eBay India country manager Ambareesh Murty . Founder and CEO Yatra.com Dhruv Shringi has been appointed the new Treasurer in place of IRCTC director-tourism Nalin Shinghal.
