MUMBAI: Indian Idol 9 contestant Bharti Gupta, who has created a place in the hearts of viewers with her melodious voice, has released her new romantic single, Saaz, today.
Speaking about how this song happened, Bharti said, “I am a part of Sanjay Ambreesh team, who are the music composers of the song. Me and my friend Ambresh wrote the song and we pitched it to Zee, who approved it. We have also acted in Saaz.”

When asked if Saaz is her first solo with Zee Music Company, the singer told, “Yes it’s my first single with Zee Music Company. They are very supportive and are also promoting the song.”
Besides, Bharti Gupta, who rose to fame after Indian Idol 9, also shares her experience of being a contestant on the show. She said, “It was an emotional journey, where my dad was there throughout. I got lots of love and blessings there and my time spent during the show was a memorable one. Indian Idol is indeed an encouraging platform.”
After Indian Idol 9, just like others, Bharti did shift to the city of dreams, with an aim to fulfil her singing career. “I shifted to Mumbai, where I got an opportunity with Ram Sankalp sir along with whom I have worked on a jingle that was featured on Shahrukh Khan. It got 11 million views on YouTube. And now, I have worked with Zee Music for Saaz,” she revealed about her journey.
Bharti, whose favourite singers happens to be Sunidhi Chauhan and Asha Bhosle, also told about what led to her choosing singing as a career, “I actually started very late. After working with an MNC, I realised that singing is my passion as my heart was not there in my job. So, I started taking initiative towards music as I am incomplete without it. Having found music very challenging, I wanted to nurture this talent of mine. “
On being asked if she follows Indian Idol 10, the singer, who is a big fan of Sunidhi Chauhan, further said, “I know a lot of contestants from Indian Idol 10 from which some are my friends. Also, Salman Ali is my favourite contestant amongst them.”
Lastly, when asked to choose between Bollywood playback singing and independent music, Bharti Gupta signed off, “I prefer Bollywood playback singing, which is challenging, but people start recognising you. And, when it comes to independent music, I am, anyways, working on singles.”
