March 11th, 2022: One of the country’s leading dance music producers Sartek brings the magic of his global production skills to an airy melodic electronica single titled Ajeeb Khoj. Featuring musician & popular digital content creator Vipasha Malhotra, the track showcases Sartek’s versatility and his emotional connect with Indian instruments.
The Delhi-based DJ Producer Sarthak Sardana aka Sartek rose to fame when he became one of the first electronic musicians to be supported and signed by some of the biggest entities associated with dance music globally. He has released on multiple international record labels such as Armin Van Buuren’s Armada Music, Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings, Sony Music Denmark, Sony Music India, Dharma/Spinnin etc. All his songs have been featured in the Top 100 Beatport charts. Sartek was the official opening act for Justin Bieber, AP Dhillon, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Axwell and Steve Aoki among others during their India tour.

With the pandemic edging out the scope of live shows and streaming platforms picking up pace, Sartek took a slight break from his signature dance floor smashers to make room for music that appeals to a variety of taste palettes.
Bearing Sartek’s distinctive style, this earthy yet futuristic song stands out for its blend of vocals with instruments as also the selection of beats and melodies that give birth to his Hindi electronica offering. The hook, ‘Ajeeb Khoj Hai’ with dreamy pads and calm breakdown builds up to a drop with a brass instrument, enhancing the track’s appeal for a larger set of audiences.
Sartek resonates with a fair deal with Indian sounds as they remind him of the folk songs he listened to while growing up. Explaining how the track came together he says, “This release took a lot of brainstorming to arrive at the ‘new sound’… and I was waiting for a perfect set of vocals to start off the project. Then, I heard this vocal hook online somewhere and asked Vipasha to sing it. She did a superb job writing it and it inspired me to go to the studio and make this into a whole song.”
His collaborator Vipasha describes Ajeeb Khoj as a “future banger. As art, the song is up for interpretation, but for me, it’s a song about the search of your dreams and about living the journey to the fullest,” she says.
