MUMBAI: On World Radio Day, which falls on 13 February i.e. tomorrow, The Radio Festival will put forth a fabulous radio get-together. Organized by Radio Mewat founder Archana Kapoor, it is the second year of the fest, which has more in store. MY FM India’s popular RJ Kartik will speak in an intriguing story telling session at The Radio Festival.
“In the storytelling session, I will talk about my journey how popular I became a popular RJ. I will narrate some of my stories, I am pretty excited about the storytelling session I will have. I am pretty happy that I will share the stage with the rock stars of radio Sayema, Nitin and Saurabh,” he told.
He further continues, “One thing that I want to tell everyone is that radio is going to be forever, it has a long life. People are saying that radio ke din gaye, but I am saying that it’s still there. The biggest advantage of radio is that you can talk about what you feel. Radio gives you all the liberty.”

While RJ Kartik gives a message to all your listeners, “Kar ke kuch dikhao aisa ki duniya karna chahe aapke jaisa. Fans are like my family only and radio is a beautiful medium, keep enjoying it. It’s not made to upset people but it’s a happy medium.”
The Radio Festival will embrace the theme of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) – Leaving No One Behind, this year. There would be many sessions, which include heavy panel discussions from some noteworthy radio biggies. Well, there would RED FM COO Nisha Narayanan, MY FM Business Head Rahul Namjoshi RJ Meenakshi from My FM, RJ Vidit from Radio Mirchi and many more, who will have some interesting conversations.
Apart from the sessions, there would also be live performances by Sumeet Samos an Indian music artist and rapper who would throw light on a few issues through storytelling and that too through music. A comedy skit in Awadhi will capture the plurality and myriad tongues of radio broadcasting. A fun interactive session patterned after the BBC awards winning series Just A Minute. JAM will challenge the most popular RJs from the private FM channels to speak extempore for a minute without repetition.
