MUMBAI: Once again hailing rock music to its helm in the country, the oldest rock fest Independence rock is back in its 27th year. The dates for the fest has finally been announced.
The new edition of the well-recognized concert will be held on 25 November weekend at the Chitrakoot Grounds in Mumbai. There is also a buzz that the fest will showcase some international acts. The line-up and other details are yet to-be announced.
Over the years, I-Rock is known for offering budding talent a platform to showcase and nurture their talent. Last year the fest underwent a huge change by rechristening the iconic name to MTV Independence Rock’ and introducing new segment ‘MTS Red Energy Wild Card Entry’. For the first time, the band selections were taken place through public voting unlike the previous edition wherein the hated jury was involved. The bands were judged on their talents, quality performance and originality.
