MUMBAI: After a stint of more than six years as the CEO of E-18 (Division of Network 18) Farhad Wadia has put down his papers and moved to a real estate business. Wadia, who has organised the I-Rock festival for the last 27 years, ended his tenure at E-18 on 28 February.
Amidst this transition, he assured that he will keep his love for music going and is hopeful that like always the two day I-Rock festival will take place this year as well. It is the biggest and oldest rock festival in India and has helped promote a number of independent rock artistes in the country including Indus Creed, Pentagram, Parikrama, Demonic Resurrection and others.
Confirming his move, Wadia said, “It was time to move and explore the new opportunities available. I have started working with Capricorn Group as the SVP and head of marketing and sales. It is a diversified group which gives me more opportunity to explore other spaces like Real Estate and Hospitality. I joined Capricorn Group on 1 March and I am enjoying my work.”

Speaking about the shift from media to real estate, he said, “At a senior level, it is more about managing brands and it works well for me.
Wadia had been the face of the Indian Rock scene for his initiative Independence Rock Festival. “My love for music is undying and I will continue doing all my music activities along with my foremost responsibility Independence Rock.”
Prior to E-18, Wadia worked as a VP for marketing and events with HT media for more than two years. He was with Channel 4 UAE Networks as general manger for more than two years. For five years, he worked with Power Productions as the CEO, creative director music and artiste relations. He has also worked with Radio Star India as creative director and head programming.
