MUMBAI: Akanksha Bhandari, a rising singing talent, is known for her work in Fukrey Returns, Veeray Ki Wedding. Recently she had collaborated for Tere Liye with Atif Aslam, which turned out a big hit. She sheds light on how she got these big projects and her singing graph.
Speaking on how she got her roots into singing, she says, “. I never took proper training from anyone. My mom used to sing, so, whatever I have learnt is from her. I used to participate in college events and when I came to Mumbai, I did my MBA after which, I got completely into music.”
“Professionally, I was never into music. I never thought I would become a professional singer. It all started with my YouTube channel as a lot of my friends not only told me but also supported me. Slowly I started singing scratches for films. I started my YouTube channel,” further shares Bhandari.

Furthermore, while talking about Tere Liye, she elaborates on how she got the opportunity, “I got a call from the makers of the song. I did not know anything about this track, be it Atif co-singing it or Parineeti Chopra featuring in it. I just focused on my bit and a few days later, the music director told me that it’s going to be with Atif Aslam later. I did not meet him though because the recording happened in Dubai.”
Akanksha Bhandari commenced her journey with tons of covers like Baarish 2.0, Roke Na Ruke Naina, Fitoor and many more on her YouTube channel. Asking on how YouTube has given her a platform to showcase her talent she said, “YouTube has really helped me, I have improved in terms of my singing, my video and a lot more. A lot of people have approached me through YouTube as they liked my work.”
She has a lot planned for her future, “I have a few more songs in Bollywood. But I also want to also get into my Indie music scene; I have the habit of exploring different kinds music in terms of languages and genres. I like to explore and learn. I don’t want to stick to any one genre. I can this confidently that I am a versatile singer,” ends Bhandari.
