MUMBAI: Sukriti Kakar, best known as the younger sibling of Bollywood playback singer Aakriti Kakar, is making a name for herself in the industry now. She has tasted success with songs like ‘Pehli Baar’ from ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Kar Gayi Chull’ from ‘Kapoor and Sons’ and the latest being ‘Rustom Vahi’ from ‘Rustom’ and there seems to be no looking back for this talent.
The young Kakar is not running short of playback offers. In fact, she has sung for a few upcoming films however, she shies away from revealing the same. “Working as a Bollywood playback singer is so amazing and surreal because you do not know what will happen next. At times songs that you sing come out after a year or so, and at other times it just takes a few days. For example, I was the last person to be brought on board for ‘Kar Gayi Chull’. So, I sang the song just 20 days before its release. Now, it has touched 80 million views,” exclaimed the singer who got to learn a lot about the industry through her elder sister.
“We moved to Mumbai for my sister and we saw her struggle. We understood the highs and lows of this profession but, this is what I wanted to do,” stated ‘Jugni Peeke Tight Hai’ singer who wishes to sing a variety of songs in Bollywood. In fact, she is also looking forward to working with music composers Amit Trivedi, Vishal- Shekhar and Pritam.”I have this huge list of music composers that I want to work with and they definitely top it,” giggled the up-tempo singer.

Furthermore, while Bollywood and the year 2016 is running great for this singer she is working on a few independent projects. In fact, she has been composing a few songs of her own with some help from her twin. “So, we co-write and work on tunes for our compositions. We are looking at bringing out these songs sometime soon. Apart from it I am also working on a couple of covers and those will be out in a month or so,” revealed Sukriti.
“Though Bollywood is great, I do not want to be just a voice to an, at some point I would want to break through. thus, I feel the comeback of singles and music videos is great,” she said.
