MUMBAI: The Grammy Awards returns with its 61st edition. The ceremony celebrates artists all over the world for their contribution to the field of music. Prashant Mistry, is an Indian origin musician, whose album Symbol has been nominated in the category of the Best Immersive Music Album at the 61st Grammy Awards.
“It’s an incredible honour to have my album nominated for a Grammy and to see Jorja Smith, who is a sound engineer, is nominated for Best New Artist. In fact, there is no feeling quite like it. As a musician starting out you dream of things like this, you then spend your whole life learning and studying, trying to perfect your craft,” said Prashant on his noteworthy nomination at the Grammys.
Prashant tells what his album Symbol is all about, “The album Symbol is especially important for me as it’s a call for empathy in times when powers seek to drive us apart, commented Mistry on being nominated at the 61st Grammy Awards.”

We asked Mistry on whether he expected that his album will be in the nominee’s list at the Grammy awards. On this, he mentions, “No way!! We had no idea; it’s been a real surprise and blessing. I couldn’t be more proud, it’s a dream come true.”
Prashant has dedicated the album Symbol to deceased father of the band’s percussionist, Kabir. Symbol was released in 2011 making Prashant one of the only Indian-origin musicians to make a name for himself in electronic music abroad. His band, Engine- Earz Experiment draws inspiration from India.
Well, Prashant informed that he would bring his girlfriend at the Grammy Award night. Furthermore, he gave a message to his fans, “Stay creative and make sure you express yourselves through art. It is so important for our spiritual well-being.”
Currently, Prashant seems to be working on some really exciting projects, he mentions, “I am ooking forward to new Jorja Smith music this year as well as some special music from Maisie Peters and Benji Flow.”
