I consider Justice League tribute to be my best work yet: Tushar Lall
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

MUMBAI: It’s always heartening to see youngsters think about the underprivileged.  Especially young artistes, who themselves are finding feet in their profession. One such recent example is Tushar Lall of Indian Jam Project (IPJ), who through their efforts collected over 2.5 lakh rupees for slum kids of Asalpha, Ghatkopar in Mumbai.

The Indie group is known for their unique covers of International song and this time, Tushar has used his USP for a greater cause. “I had a concept of taking one child from the slum that unites the rest of kids and forms their own Justice League. The implementation of the same happened very smooth and it was due to the team effort,” said Tushar.

Tushar, who has always come up with amazing covers and has created a strong fan following of over two lakh, found remarkable response for this campaign. “It is amazing that we have collected around 2.5 lakhs and we can pay off fees for many children. We stayed in the slums with them and analysed their need and intent for education. What we observed was that maximum drop outs happen in 9th, 10th, 11th grade. So, we have designed the campaign in such a way that if due to financial shortfall a student decides to quit, we will pitch and support his education fees for the next educational year.”

In this noble cause, Multi Network Platform Qyuki Digital and other organisations like Chal Rang De have also played a pivotal role.

Watch the video below:

Tushar continues, “This (Justice League Tribute) has to be my best work till now. Also, as this video has garnered so many views already, it has encouraged me to do another project basis Avengers movie. As the movie, Avengers Infinity War, is scheduled to release in April, we plan to do something then.”

Apart from this, Tushar is also coming up with his own original, as he tells, “I have too many covers and now I think is the time for an original. We are half way through it and we shoot the video very soon.

Coming back to this cover of Justice League, Tushar says, “It was a great experience especially interacting with these kids. They taught us a thing or two about life. While we were shooting, I got all these children food from McDonald’s, while it amazed me that they had never eaten at McDonald’s, they were super thrilled. One of them was with me when went to get food. I asked him to eat there itself, to which he refused saying “sabke saath khane mein maza hai”. This was indeed very endearing.”

Eight kids from Aslapha also feature in the video as Batman, Wonder Woman, Aqua, Flash and Superman. Musicians who have performed in for this video are Prasad Rahane for sitar, on flute Avadhoot Phadke, dhol Tasha by Sandesh and sarangi which is played and recorded by Sandip Mishra, but performed by Shri Datta in the video.
