Hungama inks INKA deal at Mobile World Congress

MUMBAI: Hungama Digital Media Entertainment has adapted INKA’s DRM Adaptor interoperability technology for their digital entertainment store-front enabling Bollywood music and movie availability on over 250 mobile devices as announced by Hungama.com on the first day of the four-day Mobile World Congress 2010.

INKA’s DRM Adaptor expands the availability of Hungama’s WMDRM encrypted contents to over 250 OMA DRM equipped mobile devices  With DRM Adaptor’s DRM and codec translation ability, Hungama’s more than 500,000 titles of Bollywood movies and India based TV episodes can be downloaded and viewed across platform.

Extending Hungama’s services to mobile devices will meet the desire of end users to enjoy music and movie content wherever they want… said Hungama Digital Media Managing director and CEO Neeraj Roy. India is emerging as one of the fastest growing markets for mobile phone users. This service expansion to mobile devices via sideloading will provide premium user experience and attract a lot of mobile users….

INKA Entworks CEO James Ahn said, INKA’s DRM interoperability technology will offer an expanded eco-system to the digital music, movie (video) and mobile device industry. At this time, DRM Adaptor supports WMDRM and OMA interoperability.
