MUMBAI: Vineet Singh Hukmani has been elevated to the position of managing director of Radio One, the joint venture between Mid-day Multimedia and BBC Worldwide.
Hukmani, who was Radio One CEO till now, will now also be a part of the board of directors of Radio One. The announcement followed the declaration of outstanding results by the station in the last quarter.
Radio One, which announced its Q3 results on Tuesday, is positioned as a â€?metro radio specialist’. Radio One grew by 49% in the last quarter (over last year), in a market that saw little or no growth. In the first nine months of the financial year between April and December Radio One grew revenues by 72% over the previous year.
Under Hukmani’s leadership, Radio One has made an aggressive foray into garnering the loyalty of metro audiences and efficient monetizing of the same.
Says Mid-day Multimedia managing director Tariq Ansari, Radio One’s performance is a testament to Vineet’s leadership and the outstanding team of professionals that he leads. This invitation is in recognition of his significant contributions in making Radio One the fastest growing radio brand in the country both in terms of audience and revenues….
Radio One has seven metro stations: Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai.
