MUMBAI: Tamil Nadu based Hello FM 106.4 has bagged the exclusive radio partnership with Chennai Super Kings for the forthcoming IPL season.
Last year, the station had campaigned for Chennai Super Kings unofficially but this year, Hello FM has inked a deal with Chennai Super Kings as its exclusive radio partner.
The radio station will campaign across all its stations in Tamil Nadu including Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Coimbatore, Puduchery and Trichy.
Says Hello FM president Rajeev Nambiar, Cricket is a religion in India. Season one of IPL was exciting and we are pinning our hopes on second season as well. Thanks to the job well done last year, we gained an official recognition for partnering with Chennai Super Kings this year….
The station will air sound bytes from Chennai Super Kings players like Mathew Hayden, Suresh Raina and others. Winners of an on air contest stand a chance to win a paid trip to South Africa and a chance to rub shoulders with cricketing icons. To add to the IPL fever, Hello FM has composed a Chennai Super Kings anthem which will be played during the entire IPL season during the programming and also during the ad slots.
Continuing with last year’s contest, Hello FM will start its cricket carnival, â€?Solli Adi’ this year with Chennai Super Kings’ official association with the contest. The game show revolves around cricket with interestingly framed questions pertaining to the IPL teams and the Indian cricket scenario.
This time, â€?Solli Adi’ will be played in Coimbatore and Chennai.
â€?Solli Adi’ will be hosted by RJ Suresh and team, who will put forth a range of questions on IPL and the callers who get the right answers will take home a cash prize. The programme is a brain game that plays on intuition and predictions of the numbers of runs per over with a cash price of Rs 1000 for each over (a total of 40 overs include both the innings). The callers who predict the exact number of runs for each over will win the cash prize for the respective over and progress to the next round of the consecutive over.
On the contrary, If he/she fails to predict the right number of runs she/he will be out of the game at the end of the over and new participants can enter into the game show for consecutive overs with cumulative increase in the price value based on the number of overs that have been played without an exact prediction.
Nambiar says, This concept built on â€?Right Number’ and â€?Jackpots’ was an instant hit in season I with our core audience, luring in more people both at home and on the move to our brand of radio. We take a lot of pride in treating our audience with fun and cash awards this season with an official recognition in place with the Chennai Super Kings….
