MUMBAI: NBC’s music competition- ‘The Voice’ is getting ready to say goodbye to one judge- Christina Aguilera and make way for another. According to reports, rock band- No Doubt’s front woman- Gwen Stefani will replace the ‘Genie in a Bottle’ singer as one of the four coaches on the show.
Season seven of The Voice will see Stefani take Aguilera’s spinning red chair, as reports state she recently signed a deal with the show. However, the ‘Hollaback Girl’ singer will appear on the show only for its upcoming season, after which Aguilera will reprise her role on the show.
Also joining Stefani, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on the coaches’ panel in season seven of ‘The Voice’ will be ‘Happy’ singer Pharrell Williams, who is set to replace CeeLo Green. Williams is no stranger to the show, appearing as a guest mentor on the show’s fourth season. Last month Green announced that he would not be returning to ‘The Voice’ since he will be developing his very own TV show.
In February this year, Aguilera announced that she is expecting her second child, which will make it difficult for her to be part of the show when shooting the new season starts in June. Although she would like to be part of the show, the ‘Dirrty’ singer said she felt it best for her to leave now.
