MUMBAI: Sharvi Yadav, the winner of recently concluded The Stage 2, shefted her base to Mumbai for her upcoming ventures that involve more live gigs and studio recordings.
The 21-year-old, however, will return to her hometown for the first live performance in Delhi since winning the second edition of the only English talent hunt show, that featured Arunaja Nalinakshana, Natasha Sehgal and Abhishek Gurung Lemo.
“I will be performing in Delhi at Gig Week on 11 December 2016, and I might perform in Mumbai and Pune Gig Week editions before that,” said Sharvi, speaking to Radioandmusic.com.

Sharvi, an admirer of jazz music hopes to express her love for the genre at the upcoming gigs. Having lent her voice for an ad jingle, Yadav added that she’s contemplating about an existing offer to perform at a music festival.
Talking about live performances, she said, “I shifted to Mumbai right after the show, as I wanted to do something on my own. I have performed in Delhi before and I know about the existing live music culture in the capital. ‘The Piano Man Jazz Club’ and ‘Bandstand’ have been my favourites. Compared to Delhi, I guess Mumbai doesn’t have so many options when it comes to live music performance venues.”
An extrovert by nature, Yadav earned the opportunity to record with Universal Music India, thanks to the success at The Stage 2. When we asked her about the progress, she said, “A few days back I had a meeting with them for almost five hours. They wanted to know my preferences towards music and informed me, ‘I could be nothing or I could be everything after the release.’ Music has made me accept things. Singles come and go, but I want to make something people can embrace on.”
2016 has been generous to Sharvi Yadav in terms of accolades and surprises, and although the singer’s popularity is on the rise, it’d be interesting to see what 2017 offers for the young musician. A film project? An album? Exciting times, indeed.
