MUMBAI: Gibson and Vivanta by Taj have come together to put up an exhibition of sixty vintage and rare photographs of legendary musicians and their Gibson guitars. Gibson Brands Inc. will be celebrating its 120th anniversary by offering Indian music aficionados a unique visual treat in the form of ‘Gibson Through The Lens’.
The exhibition has proved a success in cities like London, Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney and Los Angeles, after which, Gibson Through The Lens will make its debut starting at Wink, Vivanta by Taj – President, Mumbai from 29 October to 2 November. From there, it will move on to four more Vivanta cities – Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Gurgaon.
The previous editions of the exhibition have been highly acclaimed and deemed historic globally. The musical photo exhibition in India will display rare visuals of the world’s most iconic artistes enjoying private moments with their Gibson guitars, be it backstage, on the tour bus, at home or live on stage.

The photographs will be curated by music photography archivist Dave Brolan and the exhibition will showcase works of thirty of the world’s most respected rock photographers including Baron Wolman, Neal Preston, Mick Rock, Bob Guerin, Ross Halfin, the late Jim Marshall and others.
The exhibition will consist of sixty, fine photographic prints signed by the photographers featuring the who’s who of rock royalty. It will also showcase photographs of undisputed guitar heroes such as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Angus Young, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, John Fogerty, B.B King, Jeff Beck, Les Paul, Carl Perkins, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Wes Montgomery, Sir Paul McCartney, Pete Townshend, Slash, Dave Grohl, Lenny Kravitz, Jon Bon Jovi, Jack White and Noel Gallagher amongst others.
