Gaurav Dayal & Ravi Iyer scored short films nominated for WMIFF

MUMBAI: The short films scored by Gaurav Dayal of beatfactory and guitarist-composer Ravi Iyer have been selected for the 2012 World Music and Independent Film Festival (WMIFF).

Being shortlisted out of 400 entries from 32 countries, the short films ‘Through Bloodshot Eyes’ and ‘The Dance of Death’ marks LA based director-screenwriter Amanda Sodhi’s debut as director.

The film ‘Through Bloodshot Eyes’ traces the change in dynamics in an abusive Indian father-son relationship spanning over two decades when the tables suddenly turn. The film stars Ramaan Desai, Avtar Chadda and Puppy Manohar.

‘The Dance of Death’ explores a young Indian woman’s awakening when her husband’s sudden death brings more happiness into her life than sorrow. The film stars Puja Mohindra, Rahul Nath, Shruti Tewari, Samira Saha, Thomas Tevana, Paul Singh and Laikh Tewari.

Earlier, Sodhi has co-written a feature film “Life! Camera Action…” with filmmaker Rohit Gupta. She also shared nomination with Gupta in the ‘Best Screenplay’category’ at the World Music and Independent Film Festival.
