MUMBAI: Pop star Lady Gaga is embroiled in a new $20 million plagiarism lawsuit for her hit album ‘Born This Way’.
According to reports following in, the Poker Face singer has used pictures of French artist Orlan’s sculpture Bump-Load- for her No 1 album and video.
66- year-old Orlan, well- known in the country’s art circle, who filed the plagiarism lawsuit wants judges to ban label Universal Music from further sales of ‘Born This Way’ and marketing of the two-year old video. She also wants 7.5 percent of the profits from the ‘Born This Way’ album and video in compensation.
Orlan has based her lawsuit on an image from the ‘Born This Way’ video which has Gaga’s severed head- which is similar to the French artist’s 90’s sculpture ‘Femme Avec T?te’ (‘Woman With Head’).
Earlier in the year, Gaga, had faced a similar lawsuit which accused her of plagiarism for the song ‘Judas’.
