MUMBAI: Organisers of the Future Music Festival Asia 2015 have announced that the upcoming two-day festival has been cancelled. The announcement was made on the festival’s website on 8 March. The festival was scheduled to take place on 13 and 14 March at Singapore’s Changi Exhibition Centre.
According to a statement on the festival’s website, organisers said that they were disappointed that the Ministry of Home Affairs rejected an appeal to grant them a public entertainment license, owing to which the event had to be called off.
“FMFA firmly stands behind our goal of creating a drug-free event for our festival goers to enjoy. Despite having put in place a robust event, security, safety and medical management plan which has been developed alongside both local and international experts with a combined 50 years of experience in running similar large-scale events, our Public Entertainment License has not been granted. The plans that have been developed far exceeds international standards,” said the statement.

The statement also informed ticket holders that full refunds would be made, for which details would be announced on Monday, 9 March. “We are also aware of the many fans overseas that have made travel arrangements into Singapore for the festival. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience you have been put through,” it added.
Future Music Festival Asia was organised by the Livescape Group and Future Music Australia, and was slated to have performances by Avicii, Fatboy Slim, Afrojack and The Prodigy, amongst others.
