MUMBAI: On occasion of Joy of Giving, the second fundraiser night set together with art, music and creativity will be held on 11 October. The initiative was organised by Percept Art along with Toybank, a non-profit organisation that has been set up with the aim of providing toys to children.
Toybank CEO and founder Shweta Chari said, “We send out a request to around 150 potential art buyers to come forward and buy the art that is displayed. Many artistes have contributed their art work. The portion of money that will be received through the art exhibition will be used to help our organisation buy toys for children. Having music along with the art was a really great idea.”
Chari further added, “I never thought I will do something like this but I am happy that it did happen. It is all new for me but I would like to do something like this again.”
On 11 October, Suchitra Pillai and Luke Kenny will perform. Singer and DJ Luke Kenny said, “I have known Shweta for three years now. I am happy that I am helping the cause. I hope to help the organisation in my small way.”
Last Friday, Vasudha Sharma and Ravi Iyer & friends had performed. Percept Art aims at raising around 10 lacs from all these events and a portion of funds raised from this event will be donated to Toybank, which intends to use these funds to open one dozen rural impact centers across rural Maharashtra by the end of this year. Toybank is working their way to impact the lives of 1,00,000 kids in their 10th year.
