MUMBAI: By the end of the last year, music streaming service Saavn had a re-shuffle at its executive level. Now at the start of the year, Saavn has announced Mahesh Narayanan as the new global chief operating officer. He will oversee numerous functions of the company to encourage growth and support Saavn’s expansion in 2015.
He has a decade of digital experience and has worked with companies like Google, AdMob (acquired by Google) and Sociomantic Labs (acquired by Dunnhumby).
Prior to joining Saavn, Narayanan led the India operations for Sociomantic, a German display advertising company, which was acquired by Dunnhumby in April 2014.

Narayanan was the founding member of Google’s direct sales operations in 2005. His services to Google involved planting the seeds of growth for Google India. After which he joined the leadership team of mobile advertising network, AdMob. In 2010, Google acquired AdMob and Narayanan re-joined Google as mobile head for India.
Last year, Saavn partnered with Twitter, T-Mobile and Snapdeal amongst other brands. The company has already grown to more than 11 million monthly streaming users, with more than 30 million unique users in 2014.
