Folktronic artiste Shri bags nomination for CLIO Awards

MUMBAI: UK based multi-instrumentalist and Folktronic artiste Shri has bagged nomination at CLIO Awards 2012 for his musical score of Google Chrome Short film ‘Tanjore.’

Shri has received nomination in ‘Best original music’ category. The score is a blend of traditional sounds with electronic music and has highlighted the essence of the short film. The film highlighting the dying art of Tanjore painting is the artistes first venture into advertising industry.

Shri said, “I am extremely thrilled because it is nominated for Best Original Music at one of the most prestigious advertising awards in the world. I was not aiming at making a hit but I was just trying to create a music score that would compliment the feeling and thought behind the short film. I was given the privilege to create this music in my own style which is why I could make the best of it.”

The CLIO Awards 2012 will be held on 15 May in New York City. CLIO Awards are one of the most recognized awards bestowed to reward innovation and creative excellence in advertising, design and communications.
