MUMBAI: Asha Bhosle’s birthday is not only a celebration for her but also for her fans. To make the day even more special radio stations have well laid out plans for the day as a tribute to Asha Tai. Here are plans for the day by three radio stations- Radio Nasha, FM Tadka and Radio City.
RJ Anmol from Radio Nasha has been interviewing Asha Bhosle since 2010, each time on her birthday. Being the seventh year in a row, Anmol planned to do an interview in a different format. This time the interview has been spread over two days, one of 7 September and other on 8 September.
Yesterday, the show Ek Main Aur Ek Tu with RJ Anmol was based on Tai’s playlist. Generally, stations play songs of the artiste on their birthdays but Tai’s wanted a different format. She said as it was her birthday, the songs on- air should be her favourite songs sung by different artistes. These included Lata Mangeshkar’s Lag Ja Gale and many more.

Today on the show, it will be RJ Anmol’s who will control the playlist. He will request Tai to give him a list of her favourite songs sung by her. Being her birthday today, the station believe’s it is mandatory to play her songs or the celebration would be incomplete.
“Each time I interview her I feel so blessed. It’s been seven years I know her so well all I can say about her is she is a friend, philosopher, guide and a legend and that is how I will sum it up,” said RJ Anmol.
The show will be on – air from 8 pm to 10 pm.
Also during Radio Nasha’s morning show Jhakaas Morning with Radio Ki Heroinee Rohini, Asha Tai’s birthday was celebrated by inviting a singing sensation from Canada who is also known as the Bollywood Soprano – Natalie Di Luccio . Natalie has sung many Asha Bhosle covers in her own style.
FM Tadka’s RJ Devanagana jocks a morning show filled with energy and enthusiasm. Keeping the liveliness alive on the show, Devangana started her show with one of Tai’s most loved songs Piya Tu by Asha Bhosle.
Radio City’s RJ Gaurav who presengts Kal Bhi Aaj Bhi from 9 pm to 11 pm, also has special plans for his Tai’s fans. The listeners will hear an exclusive interview of Asha Tai along with her solo and duet special songs.
