MUMBAI: Florida-based artist Kimberly Marasco has once again filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Taylor Swift, this time expanding her claims to include songwriters Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, as well as major music industry players Universal Music Group, Inc. and Republic Records.
Marasco previously sued Swift in April 2024 over alleged copyright violations but failed to serve the lawsuit in time, leading to its dismissal without prejudice by Judge Aileen Cannon in December. However, the claims against Taylor Swift Productions, Inc. remain unresolved.

The new lawsuit, filed on Friday, cites alleged infringement in Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, specifically songs “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Additionally, Marasco’s complaint reasserts claims against “The Man” (from Lover) and “Midnight Rain” (from Midnights), which were also named in her original lawsuit.
In the latest legal filing, Marasco alleges that the defendants wrongfully used her original material without authorization, stating that she has suffered “irreparable harm” as a result.
