MUMBAI: Fever FM is marking music legend R D Burman’s 69 th birth anniversary on Friday, with a day long celebration of his music.
The greatest hits of the singer-composer-music director will be played on air through the day, interspersed with other hits. The station will also host various contests around RD Burman, featuring both musical compositions and trivia, for the legend’s buffs.
New versions of various songs composed and sung by the maestro will be played by Bengali bands, to pay tribute to the icon. R D Burman Golden Collection CDs will be given out as prizes for winners of the contest for the day.Fever 104 group programming head Gaurav Sharma says, “R D Burman’s music has a cult following and his music cuts across period, genre and geography.
