MUMBAI: Falaknuma Festival at the Taj Falaknuma Palace Hyderabad on 4 February is not just about music but the magnificent venue. Be among the lucky music lovers to experience the royal lifestyles inspired by the Nizams during the first edition of the Falaknuma Festival.
The Falaknuma Festival is curated by blueFROG. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, blueFROG music programming head Jehan Johar said, “Last year, we were filming ‘Sound Trek’, a music based travel show we did for Fox Traveller, in 18 different locations in India. One of the episodes was filmed in the Falaknuma Palace. During that time we saw the beautiful location and came up with the idea of a music festival here, and we proposed it to them.”
blueFROG has curated two back to back festivals -Sula Fest and Falaknuma Festival, assisting them with their aggressive approach for the coming years as they plan to expand. Johar pointed out, “We have never really viewed ourselves as being just a venue. We have always aimed to get involved in many different verticals in the music Industry. Be it festivals, providing music content to stores and corporates, creating music related video content, programming other venues and so on.”
Johar hinted about blueFROG’s future plans, he said, “We would like to create a festival that is purely blueFROG, which is in the pipeline too.” He also hopes that if all goes well after the Falaknuma Festival, there is a possibility of partnering with Taj group for many more festivals in future.
The ten hour long festival starting from noon till 10 p.m. will have art and cultural based programs, followed by the signature cocktail party in the evening with Princess Esra, who belongs to the Asaf Jah Dynasty of Hyderabad. There will also be music performances by acclaimed artists- Susheela Raman and The Dualers from 7 p.m. till 10 p.m. The evening will end with a gala dinner.
The residential packages start from Rs 35,000 onwards and musical evening tickets are priced at Rs 7500.
