MUMBAI: Mirchi Music Awards, the annual awards presented by Radio Mirchi to honour both the artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi music industry of India, has always been a huge spectacle that movie and music buffs look forward to on Zee TV! Over the past 11 years, the show has not only recognized, but also rewarded the countless hours spent by singers, lyricists, music composers, music directors and all the other technicians for producing and presenting some iconic songs to the people around the world. The 12th Mirchi Music Awards 2020 was once again the biggest musical night of the year with the hottest Bollywood singers and actors like Deepika Padukone, Taapsee Pannu, Raveena Tandon, AR Rahman, Vishal-Shekhar, Shreya Ghoshal, Tulsi Kumar, Neha Kakkar, Darshan Raval, Kanika Kapoor, amongst others, gracing the occasion.
Hosted by the dynamic music composer, singer and actor – Shekhar Ravjiani and renowned actor – Aparshakti Khurrana, the 12th Mirchi Music Awards was a grand event and the duo didn’t leave a chance to entertain audiences. But it was the special performance dedicated to the magical Deepika Padukone that really grabbed everyone’s attention. Four extremely talented singers including Kanika Kapoor, Shilpa Rao, Aditi Paul, and Kavita Seth took turns and presented some really groovy performances to Deepika’s hit songs over the years like Khuda Jaane, Ang Laga De, Lovely, Tumhi Ho Bandhu and Subhan Allah, thereby depicting her journey from the dream girl of ‘Om Shanti Om’ to the Rani of ‘Padmaavat.’ In fact, Deepika also came on stage and did a few of her signature steps, leaving everyone in the audience asking for more.
The Mirchi Music Awards 2020 also saw a special performance by the current heart-throb of the nation, Darshan Rawal as he got the millennials swaying once again to his famous tracks like Mehrama, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh, amongst others. An act dedicated to the fearless women in the field of music followed it up and it was brilliantly executed by Taapsee Pannu, who recited stories relating to the songs sung by a huge group of female singers. The Meet Bros, Neha Kakkar and Vishal – Shekhar also set the stage on fire with their electrifying performances!

However, it was AR Rahman who stole the show in the end, as he closed the night with some of his wonderful renditions. Several awards including the Best Song, Best Singer, Best Music Director and so on, were also handed out to some incredibly talented people. All in all, it was a night to remember!
