BANGALORE: To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Sachin Dev Burman’s first recording as a music director (Rajgee – 1936), a concert â€?Evergreen Burmans’ will be held on 9 July in Bangalore.

‘Evergreen Burmans’ will also celebrate 50 glorious years of father and son (RD Burman) combination, which commenced with the song â€?Sar jo tera chakraaye’ for Guru Dutt’s film â€?Pyaasa’.

Legendary Kishore Kumar’s son Amit and Sumit will pay a musical tribute to the Burman’s at the concert and Kishore Sodha, RD’s favourite trumpet player – the music director of the show will be accompanied by brother Raj along with other musicians. Singers Babloo Mukherjee, Divya Raghavan, Biju Nair, Sinchan Dixit and Sromona Kumar will also perform at the concert.

SD started his career as a music director 75 years ago for the film Rajgee in 1936. More than 50 years ago, as a child, RD composed the song â€?Sar jo tera chakraaye’ for the 1957 Guru Dutt film â€?Pyaasa’ which SD liked and included in the film.
