MUMBAI: Fintage House BV, the performance collection agency of Elvis Presley has inked a deal with Rights Agency Ltd (RAL) to capture artist royalties.
The companies will combine operations that collect money for recording artists, when their music is played on radio, television and other formats. The financial terms of the deal, which includes cost-sharing on technology upgrades are yet to be disclosed.
With this association, the clients can access a shared global collections network with increased efficiency. The company stated that an income from radio play and other commercial uses has become more important to artists in the past decade as album sales have declined.
Fintage House co-chief executive officer Niels Teves said, “We invested in RAL because we believe that together we can achieve more for our clients on a global scale. Our clients are traditionally from the US, Canada and continental Europe, while the clients of RAL are primarily from the UK Collectively, our client base is worldwide.”
The RAL clients include artistes like Paul Mccartney, Phil Collins, Celine Dion, Eric Clapton and Pet Shop Boys, whereas Fintage House’s roster includes Britney Spears, Foo Fighters, Jason Mraz and The Black Eyed Peas.
