MUMBAI: Let’s share happiness through music with a playlist created by some awesome and popular artistes compiling it for you, to mark International Day of Happiness. Artists who will be contributing to this happiness include United Nations Messengers of Peace and Goodwill Ambassadors, along with international artists such as Ed Sheeran, David Guetta, Charlize Theron, John Legend and James Blunt, amongst others.
The playlist is part of an interesting campaign called #HappySoundsLike, which has been launched by the United Nations and music streaming service, MixRadio. The playlist will be launched on 20th March, when the world celebrates International Day of Happiness.
Australian pop singer/songwriter Cody Simpson is fronting the weeklong #HappySoundsLike campaign which will reach its high note at the end of the week, when the playlist will be revealed to the listeners through MixRadio.

This also invites fans to post the song that makes them happy via #HappySoundsLike and Simpson will spotlight five track submissions to be included within the official playlist. The campaign kick starts with a global video, featuring a host of the stars singing along to raise awareness of the campaign.
United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon said, “On this day we are using the universal language of music to show solidarity with the millions of people around the world suffering from poverty, human rights abuses, humanitarian crises and the effects of environmental degradation and climate change.”
Ban designated music icon, Stevie Wonder a UN Messenger of Peace in 2010 to advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities worldwide, and nominated his “Signed Sealed Delivered” to the playlist.
MixRadio head Jyrki Rosenberg said, “This year, to celebrate and raise awareness of International Day of Happiness, MixRadio is privileged to have partnered with the United Nations. We hope the general public follow in the steps of the host of global stars and share the track that makes them happiest.”
The day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 and acknowledges that ‘the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal’.
