MUMBAI: The first track from rock legend Bob Dylan’s highly anticipated 35th album premiered on NPR Online (NPR.org/music) on 27 August.
The track, ‘Duquesne Whistle,’ that starts with a country-blues reminiscent of old skippy swing bar tune breaks into a boogie shuffle, is already available on Youtube.
The music video of the song, directed by Nash Edgerton, who also directed the clip for ‘Beyond Here Lies Nothing’ from Dylan’s 2009 release, Together Through Life will premier on 29 August on guardiannews.com.
The album ‘Tempest’ (Columbia Records) will be released on 11 September and will mark 50 years and six months of Dylan’s entry into the music world.
Accompanying Dylan in the album is his Never-Ending Tour band who makes the track swing and rock effortlessly as he playfully chugs, ‘Listen to that Duquesne whistle blowing/ Blowing like it’s gonna sweep my world away’.
