MUMBAI: English singer-songwriter Dido is all set to return to the music front with the launch of her fourth album titled ‘Girl Who Got Away’ on 4 March. Having earlier released the first track ‘Let Us Move On’, the second single ‘No Freedom’ will be released on 24 February 2013.
Comprising of 11 tracks, the album will see her reuniting with her brother Rollo Armstrong who has produced the majority of the album. The self penned electro pop soundtrack will feature the singer’s collaborative tracks with artistes like Brian Eno, Jeff Bhasker, Rick Nowels, Kendrick Lamar and Greg Kurstin. The album will release on RCA records.
While the first single featured a rap tinge to it, ‘Go Dreaming’ encompasses a euphoric rush and ‘End of the Night’ incorporates barbed wit. ‘Sitting On The Roof Of The World’ is a love folk track while ‘Blackbird’ gives out a withering feel.
Speaking about the album title, Dido said, “It’s one of my favourite songs on the record. But I guess it also sums up the last few years for me. Taking a step back from it all and going off to have the whole happy adventure of starting a family and making an album that I really am so proud of. And now I just can’t wait for people to hear it. It was an incredibly fun record to make. On every other record I’ve made, there have been really tricky days, but there weren’t any like that on this one.”
Dido’s first two albums ‘No Angel’ and ‘Life For Rent’ remain two of UK’s biggest sellers of all-time, and the critically acclaimed third LP ‘Safe Trip Home’ kept the momentum going as album sales hit the 29 million mark.
