MUMBAI: Dhamaal 24, B.A.G Films’ radio network, celebrated International Children’s Day of Broadcasting by letting seven kids take charge of the FM radio programs from 9 am to 9 pm on Sunday, the 6th of March. Celebrated on the first Sunday of March, ICDB is a day when broadcasters around the world tune in to kids. They allow children to be a part of the programming and production process, to talk about their hope and dreams, to share information and exchange views with the peers in other parts of the world.
On Friday, Dhamaal 24 had conducted a workshop with 25 children from slums of East Singhbhum and Ranchi to air children’s views on this year’s ICDB themes of social issues like child labour, child marriage and sex discrimination faced by a girl- and boy child. As part of the workshop, the children were also trained on how to people about their rights like a Radio Jockey would, and seven children were finally selected to take part in a live show on Sunday at Dhamaal 24’s Ranchi studio.
Anurradha Prasad, CMD – Dhamaal 24 and President AROI, said, I hope the first step taken by Dhamaal24 in this endeavor of ICDB will galvanize into a movement when the entire radio fraternity will join hands to further such social causes, which are surely going to have an impact on our future….
